Site Applications for our Spring 2019 Season will start being accepted July 1st, 2018. With questions on becoming a Girls on the Run school, email our Program Director: ivy@girlsontherunutah.org.

Our Site Application for our Spring 2019 season is officially open! This year our season will run from March 11th-June 1st, with our final 5k celebration taking place at Sugarhouse Park on June 1st. Interested in getting your school signed up? Here’s what you can do to get your school up and running:
  • Identify a Site Coordinator. This could be YOU! It is a very simple and low time commitment position to set up a team. Site Coordinators work with the school to get permission from the principal, promote the program to girls and families within the school, find coaches and register students. Please email our Program Director, ivy@girlsontherunutah.org, for more information on becoming a site coordinator.
  • Find a Place to Practice at Your School. This could be a field, track, or nearby park. You will also want to choose an indoor space for rainy days, such as a gym or classroom.
  • Choose 1 or 2 days a week for the program. Our program runs for approximately 10 weeks, and each lesson is intended to take an hour each. If you practice 1 day a week you will complete 2 lessons for 2 hours, and if you practice 2 days a week you will do 1 lesson each day for 1 hour.
  • Recruit Volunteer Coaches. Each team will need 2-3 coaches who want to have an incredible, rewarding experience making a difference in the lives of young girls in our program. No running experience is necessary to be a Girls on the Run Coach! We can help with recruiting coaches as well.
We take care of the rest!
  • We provide detailed lesson plans and activities from our nationally recognized curriculum
  • Provide all materials to lead each lesson
  • Train coaches at one of our fun, interactive coach trainings before the season begins
  • Provide marketing materials that you can use to promote the program at your school, and also keep parents informed throughout the season
  • Provide on-going support throughout the entire season
  • Plan a celebratory 5k for the end of the season
