A Team Ambassador is a trained volunteer who will conduct 2 visits to two teams during the  Girls on the Run 2018 Program, which starts March 12 and ends June 2, 2018.

The first visits will be within the first 2-4 weeks of the season to help deliver extra materials and meet the coaches and the girls. This is an opportunity to support and communicate with our teams during the program.  During each visit, coaches may pass along questions they have as well as elevate any concerns.

The second visit by the Team Ambassador member will be scheduled between weeks 6-9 of the season.  During that visit, Team Ambassador volunteers will complete a short, informal site evaluation form.  The site visits will help us ensure uniformity of program delivery and quality and allow us to offer feedback to coaches and teams.

Who Should be a GOTR Team Ambassador?

Being a “Team Ambassador” is a great volunteer opportunity for those who cannot commit enough time to be a Girls on the Run Coach.   Volunteers should be comfortable working with people and be a role model and example for our coaches and our girls.

A Girls on the Run Team Ambassador has the following responsibilities:

  • Attend Coach Training
  • Visit 2 sites, twice during the season (at the end of the school day)
  • Complete and return evaluation forms after each visit (via email)
  • Deliver extra materials to coaches if needed
  • Complete an online volunteer form, background check and non-compete
