Become a junior Coach

Junior Coaches are needed to inspire the next generation! Our Junior Coach program is for high school girls aged 16 to 18. Beyond serving as a role model to program participants, Junior Coaches work alongside Coaches, strengthening their leadership skills and gaining a sense of belonging and purpose.

5K Volunteers & Running Buddies

Volunteers make our 5K celebration possible and help make the day memorable for every girl! The 5K will be at Sugar House Park on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Registration
  • Hydration Stations
  • Cheer Squads
  • Setup & Cleanup
  • Running Buddies

Please note that all 5K volunteers appointed through our council will undergo a background check paid for by Girls on the Run Utah. If you have questions, please contact us at mindy@girlsontherunutah.org.

RUNNING BUDDIES: A commnity Running Buddy completes the 5K (and team practice 5K) alongside a program participant for the entire duration of the course by encouraging her to do her best while recognizing her limits.

  • All Running Buddies are race participants who must register for the race online. The $30 entry fee includes a shirt, race bib, finisher medal, and swag bag.
  • Community Running Buddies will be paired with a team or program participant in May.
  • Community Running Buddies must be 18+ and pass a background check.

Skill-Based Opportunities

Our council is seeking volunteers who can support on a project-by-project basis. Our current needs are translating services, graphic design, photography and videography.

Board & Junior Board

Our board members are a cohort of caring individuals who help bring Girls on the Run programming to life! The board of directors is for professionals who can give a 2-year commitment, while the  junior board is for individuals ages 22-30 who are looking to gain more experience.
